I've been on Snarkin for a while now because I've always liked how much you can do from really crappy rolls. Many of the other strong decks are roll dependent, but this deck isn't really.

The New Jersey regional had 78 people and I knew it would be incredibly tough with Hyperloops and Arrowbrook Gaming represented well. With the recent surge of 3-wide Snoke vehicles I had to make some tweaks and got some great advice from some friends. The biggest changes from other versions of this deck were 2x Force Wave for the 3-wides and mill, AND 2x Force Push for Vader. I went down to only 1 Force Jump because the 2 shield sides don't work for Tarkin - Grand Moff's Power Action and, most importantly, it's useless against Fist.

1) Bye (1-0)

2) Han/Yoda - W (2-0) Eric had Force Throw turn 1 which completely changed the game. He killed Tarkin turn 3, which isn't great for me. I did get Vader's Fist turn 3 or so and went through a Second Chance. I had 1 card left in deck and only needed to roll 2 to win and rolled to be able to turn the die and win. Super close game.

3) Snoke/Qi'Ra - W (3-0) Ken's deck is crazy and super scary because I had no idea what to expect. He had tons of Rigged Detonation plays and damage from hand. He Cheated Rigged back in a few times, but once I saw that play I used all my resources immediately. I got Fist late and played around his other events to win. Tarkin was alive at the end and I had Force Illusion to block his shenanigans.

4) Snoke/Ciena/Traitor - W (4-0) This is the deck I was most worried out. Luckily I got Force Wave on Sith Holocron turn 1. I mitigated most of his dice and didn't even use Tarkin's ability much. He was only able to play Umbaran Hover Tank for vehicles. Then I got Fist out turn 3 and with Wave just took out health super quickly.

5) Vader/Greedo - L (4-1) Luck was going my way and it was bound to run out. On top of that I was playing Nate, who would end up being the champion and is a great player. I pulled 0 cheap upgrades turn 1 (only had Force Push and events in opening hand). Then he played Friends in High Places for Prized Possession on my Snoke - Supreme Leader die. I didn't Tarkin PA at all. Tarkin died turn 2, which usually means game over and it certainly did here.

6) Jyn/Yoda - W (5-1) I hadn't seen this deck before but knew it was mill. Somehow my opening hand was 2 Holocrons, 2 Waves. I hit special on Holocron and ended up getting all 4 upgrades on the table. I think I did 14+ damage round 1. At that point I just had to never discard and I was golden.

7) Vader/Ciena/BR - W (6-1) Round 1 I got Force Jump out and after playing an upgrade James' Darth Vader - Terror To Behold rolled double blanks. After he played a couple more cards I Probed his last 2 cards, which were events and he couldn't reroll Vader. I got tons of damage early and he couldn't finish a character. I had no super strong upgrades but I kept getting both PAs off for 8 a turn. James played well but unfortunately his Vader wasn't cooperating.

8) Snoke/Bala/Ciena - W (7-1) I feel bad for Ben because his dice really hated him this game. On top of that I played Wave round 1 and it rolled special every single time (3 times). He had literally 0 damage on the first 2 turns from terrible rolls. No focus, no damage. Then I mitigated what he did have. It was incredibly one sided and I won turn 3. Sorry, Ben!

Being one of 4 to go 7-1 and with no undefeated players I knew I was in my first top 8! That's all I wanted so at this point I'd go home happy.

Top 8) Tarkin/Snoke - L 0-2 I played World Champ Edwin, who was my ride home and we actually played each other before the day began. Edwin can pick up a deck and just destroy people with it so I knew I didn't have a great chance. Since it was a mirror, ramp was really important. Unfortunately for me, both games he Probed the rest of my hand and just got better removal than me. I ramped OK game one but he got both PAs (Snoke and Tarkin) off every turn despite my mitigation. Second game I rolled 7 blanks after activating both characters, but even then he had more upgrades and a Fist out so I knew it was over.

I definitely had some lucky draws and rolls but overall felt this deck was strong and could compete against the 3-wides and Vader relatively well. Scott and the Highlander folks are incredible and it really is an amazing place to play Destiny. There were extra prizes for all top 8 (beyond the FFG stuff) and it was well organized. I know this deck will basically lose 50% of its cards with rotation, but it's still a lot of fun.
