The idea was to make the best of Hera Syndulla - Phoenix Leaders ability, so she can put a Resistance Bomber or Resistance Crait Speeder into play, resolve it not caring About the damage counter, because that will disappear, when the Vehicle is returned to the hand at the end of the Action Phase. If she puts an ARC-170 Starfighter into play for free, I try to use Watto's Shop - Tatooine at any cost, because this gives me 3 s and - thanks to the ARC-170 Starfighter-ability - returns the vehicle to my hand instead of discarding it.
With Poe Dameron - Ace Pilots ability I can resolve huge sides of i.e. Ghost, U-Wing or Padmé Amidala's Royal Starship and quite often have enough ressources to play them from my discard pile. Black One can fix its own die, as Long as Poe Dameron - Ace Pilot is still in play. To fix the other sides if necessary, there are 7 sides - even higher value like 3 on Padmé Amidala's Royal Starship.
The Events mostly target on mitigation - like Aerial Advantage - or speeding - like Deploy Squadron.
Hey, this is a nice deck idea, I do quite like Hera's combo with Watto's shop. However, the combo you mention with ARC-170 has been ruled to not work.
"Any effect that has (do x) 'to' (do y), you have to complete the part before the 'to' to get the effect afterwards.
The before ability on the ARC would interrupt and return the ARC to your hand before you could discard it, so you didn't successfully complete the part before the 'to'."
So if you choose to discard it then you don't get the resource refund. I hate to be a downer but I thought you should know.
