I have been having some success with this. Having only one side of paid damage makes it really easy to use Luke's power action which has been catching people off guard. Have Reaping The Crystal, Truce, and It Binds All Things to be able to get any weapon out on first turn. I am still iffy on Running Interference as I am not keen enough on using it to its fullest.
I´m working on the same deck, but with guns instead of melee. As you say I think Lukes ability is flying under the radar atm. I put weapons primarily on Chewie and cheap support stuff like the Goggles on Luke, yet they are both as threatening. Using Force Speed over RI myself as tempo isn´t the issue, but the rolls imho.
