This deck is based on a pre-cannonical short story "Little Firmy Piet Goes To Tatooine", about the time Firmus Piett recruited a gang of Jawas to scavenge up parts for the Imperial Navy. In that story, Firmus Piett is early in his career with the Imperial Navy and looking to make an impression. There are known parts needed for Imperial Cruisers on Tatooine that are needed to prepare for war with the rebels. Noone in the Navy really wanted to take that job so Firmus volunteered.
While on Tatooine, things don't go as well as planned. Piett's land-ship malfunctions due to a sandstorm-the ship wasn't prepared for the intense amount of sand on the planet. So Firmus and his small band of Troopers have to rent some Dewbacks to ride across the desert to the find the Jawas who have apparently been scavenging various Imperial vehicles that had broken down in Tatooine.
They of course eventually find the Jawas and negotiations do not go well. But while in the middle of these negotiations, they are ambushed by Tuskens who capture them and take them to their War Chief Eil Tihs Llub. He forces Piett, his three Troopers and a bunch of Jawas into a fighting pit with two large Krayt Dragons. The troopers were downed quickly, as were a few Jawas, but Piett and the Jawas ended up pulling through with a bit of ingenuity and quickly sweeping up the Trooper's blasters. Firmus could be heard yelling "Intensify Blaster Fire!" all around the pit. After successfully eliminating the Krayt Dragons, War Chief Eil Tihs Llub let them go free. Due to Piett helping save a group of Jawas, they gave him the goods he came for that they had scavenged. With a tearful goodbye, Firmus Piett left his new Jawa troopers (whom he had dubbed his lil' blaster buddies).
When Piett came back to the Imperial Navy, he was dirty and his clothes tattered, but he had successfully acquired the materials necessary to continue work on the cruisers. The other officers were impressed with Firmus but also felt pity for his situation on Tatooine. With that, they promoted him and he moved into command over Imperial Naval ships.
And that is how little Firmy Piett became an Imperial Officer.
