I'm a noob who doesn't own that many cards yet. Most of my cards are Way of the Force, just because I played in two drafts in the last two weeks and was gifted a ton of extra cards other people didn't want, on top of what I drafted. I was looking through what few characters I had, trying to come up with an idea for a villain deck to replace my Boba/Phasma starter character deck, and this is what I came up with.
So I came here looking to see if there were popular cards to play with these guys that I might be able to buy as cheap singles, and discovered that this is actually a popular combo.
I picked up a lot of very cheap singles, and a couple of the cheaper rares. I'm trying to do this cheap, which is why I don't have any of the more expensive cards like Holdout Blaster. But I still want to have a deck I can do well with at a big tournament coming up this weekend. I don't expect to win the tourney, but I think I stand a pretty good chance of going 50% or better.
I think my take on this deck is a little different than most, because I decided to emphasize the direct damage events. Some of the other decks I've seen here use Backup Muscle, but I think I like No Survivors better, just because it's faster. Against a 3 character spread, it's the same 3 damage for 1 resource, but only takes one action and does it all at once, instead of taking 3 rounds. And even against only 2 characters, it's likely to be as good, since how often does Backup Muscle get a chance to play out for all 3 rounds, anyway? And Scorched Earth just looks awesome if you can time it right.
I like the Supply Pack and Grand Entrance, as ways to make sure the Chance Cubes and weapons do their jobs. I had two copies of Crackdown in here originally, but in my testing, the Chance Cubes provided all the cash I needed.
I have second copies of Plastoid Armor and Quickdraw Holster, and I haven't decided which I prefer for cheap upgrades, which is why I went 1 of each.
I also haven't decided exactly how many weapons I need. I started with 8 weapons (including the Vambraces, though they're technically equipment), then tried with only 6. The current 7 is a compromise. I'm also considering tossing in Sebulba's Podracer, since Piett can rig its die, and it does 1 indirect damage whenever you resolve it. That would probably replace a 2 cost weapon.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't know about Ground Battalion - it looks like a solid card, but expensive to deploy, and it's not a vehicle, so Piett can't rig it's die. I was actually looking for weapons with redeploy, to help keep them in play for the long run and provide ongoing damage. My local store has F-11D Rifle for only $1 each, so I'll definitely pick up two of those. They'll probably replace Captain Phasma's Blaster and DT-29 Heavy Blaster Pistol. I can also get a second Supply Pack for 75 cents, so that'll probably replace Grand Entrance. I like that one for helping to rig the Chance Cubes, as much as the character and weapon dice. I wish they had the E-11 Blaster or LL-30 Blaster Pistol, just for more cheap redeploy weapons, but my local store doesn't have those right now. But Vibrocutlass and Canto Bight Pistol are cheaper than I expected (both are under $2), so I may grab one or more of those. |
I like this. Firmus is very strong with non uniques. I think you can do a similar deck with Battle Droids (but they're hard AF to get now) and instead of upgrades run vehicles. I have a similar deck with Firmus, BD, & Aphra running the separatist vehicle to get more BD. But for this specific build? More red supports that boost damage and help with battlefield like Ground Battalion that's a strong card and you can cut in more "if you control the battlefield" cards like Superior Position and definitely run Command Bridge or Squad Tactics
