Managed to get eVader on launch and wanted to put this together for feedback. The Darth Vader - Terror To Behold/Greedo - Unlucky Mercenary/The Price of Failure combo isn't a new idea, and if it proves to be unreliable I may cut Price in favor of more removal like High Ground.
The idea that I think will elevate this deck is using Docking Bay - Finalizer to play out a Stifle or Improvised Defense each turn. Resources will be harder to come by, but with an average roll of 5 (and a spread of 0-10 on the roll off!) getting the desired battlefield should be consistent. While play testing may prove me wrong, this combo will allow you to claim, play a support like stifle for free, and if they don't use it that round, immediately activate Vader without worrying about removal. Similarly, improvised defense will make turn card events and sides more costly to use. In tandem, this should slow your opponent down enough that you can do it again the next round.
In a first turn you are looking for Darth Vader's Lightsaber or Lightsaber Pull to guarantee it. For now I want to test Fifth Brother's Lightsaber for the large potential already in the build. I also added Grappling Boa for removal. If it proves useful, I will likely add a 2nd and drop the Fifth Brother's. Or, if I can get my hands on a Shoto Lightsaber then i'll explore in that direction.
I chose to avoid costly cards like Vader's Fist and Rise Again. I have them to test with, but I suspect the resources are better spent elsewhere. I think the copies of Indomitable gives more health value at 6 for 2 than Rise again does, even with the upgrades.
Speaking of upgrades, I considered Bloodlust but with Vow Of Vengeance acting in a similar way (sorry Greedo) it just made more sense to go with the affordable option.
I would like to try pulling out Force Illusion in part because of the coming rotation (and I think its boring). I could see running either Armor Plating or more removal in its place.
One final though, speaking of removal, Improvised Defense can make Beguile remove 2, and You Were My Friend remove as well, even without the blue card requirement. I am looking forward to that test.
Thanks for reading, and please leave ideas for ways to tune the deck! I'll be testing locally and seeing if it has a chance at competitive play.
Oddly enough, you could consider Nexus Of Power. That will get you much more consistency with Vader's Saber. If you should find yourself hurting for damage in a Vader deck, that is ...
