I played this in both Standard tournaments at the Seattle GQ this past weekend. Ended up going 3-3 and 2-4 unfortunately, but I had a lot of fun with it. It feels good, but not GREAT... K-2's power action seems underrated, especially when hitting his 2 or 3 for re-rolling opponents dice. Was thinking of adding in Hired Muscle to maybe make his power action a little more worthwhile. Was going for a damage all opponents characters strategy, but may drop that haha.
Anybody have any suggestions to maybe make it better? Or should it just get thrown in the garbage?
I really like these two together, may not be top tier but they are fun.
In general, these two have potential to be awesome. The meta right now doesn’t have a lot of mid/mid character pairings; supports and 3-wide decks run the show. From a “fundamentals” standpoint between Boushh specials and both characters having 2 melee sides it lends itself to pivot between your opponent having to deal with Boushh specials and melee damage from both. As the pilot you can work on those specials for 3-wide (or more) opponents or if you happen to get against a big character you can use the characters to focus melee and chop them down. K-2 3dmg melee is no joke. If you have the resources K-2 and Leia can do 10dmg turn 1 with no upgrades (not likely but it could happen).
As far as your deck goes it looks fun. My only suggestion would be to only use yellow villain cards that stay on the board as it helps increase the chance of maximizing that Boushh special.
Other than that it’s a question of how to increase their survivability. Riot shield and Suppressive Fire are solid choices. I currently run Suppressive Fire but no Shield (I use Deja Vu in my version get more out of certain events) .
In any case I’m hoping Spark of Hope has some cards that could bring more viable options for these two.
