Had a great time playing this at Worlds. Easily my favorite deck in Awakenings.

Record

This is how things went, as best as I can remember.

  1. L - Jabba/Dooku (Sean from Artificery)
  2. L - EPhasma, Bala, Trooper
  3. W - Rey Qui-Gon
  4. W - Han Rey
  5. W - EBala, Jango, Trooper (I think)
  6. W - Vader Raider
  7. W - Vader Raider
  8. W - Bala, Nightsister, Trooper, Trooper
  9. W - Rey, Poe
  10. W - Rey, Poe (Final 16, John, best of 3, won 2-1)
  11. L - Vader Raider Cheerios (Final 8, Dylan, lost 0-2)

The matches felt close except for the second round against Phasma, and the first round of my match against Dylan. Phasma clobbered me, and Dylan gave me a sound beating. I put up a better fight against him round 2, but he played a great game and kept lots of shields on his Raider.

Everyone I played was solid, and I hope I'm fortunate enough to be able to make another run at it again next year.

What changes would you make now with SoR?

Right now, my big change has been to swap Poe with Maz and start throwing thermal detonators, falcon's, u-wings, bowcasters, and fast hands into the deck. It's made for more consistency in damage, and resulted in doing much better against multi-character teams which this deck struggled against because of the sheer amount of health you had to chew through.

I'm still planning to come back and try out this deck with vibroknives in place of rey's staff, the lightbow instead of the lightsaber, and some different events, but after playing through Worlds, I've been needing a bit of a break. Poe Maz feels just different enough.
