A pretty straightforward vehicle list that rolled well and had some good games against some of the bigger current meta decks at our store champs this week.
Round 1 vs. Anakin Skywalker - Conflicted Apprentice/Snoke - Supreme Leader Had a pretty good start with a couple cheap vehicles, including Resistance Crait Speeder that got some extra damage over two or three rolls, including sniping Snoke down with Long-Term Plans bonus when my Opp missed that was a possibility. 1-0
Round 2 vs. Mother Talzin - Nightsister Matriarch/Mandalorian Super Commando/Mandalorian Super Commando This was a relatively close game but an early Vandalize on Op's first Mandalorian Vambraces helped stem the constant damage before the Commandos got sniped by Long-Termed damaged again. Op also got pretty unlucky on a crucial Witch Magick, hitting 2 of the 3 0 cost cards in his deck to only heal for 1. 2-0
Round 3 vs. Plo Koon - Jedi Protector/Jedha Partisan/Jedha Partisan Indirect damage two turns in a row plus a Strength Through Weakness milled half my deck very quickly, but an early Hailfire droid and C-3PO turning big indirect numbers into ranged let me get rid of Plo Koon fairly quickly. Op also missed on a couple indirect damage rolls with the Partisans after Plo Koon went down and I was able to clear out the last points with 2 cards left in hand. 3-0
Round 4 vs. Cassian Andor - Rebellion Operative/Anakin Skywalker - Podracing Prodigy/Yoda - Wizened Master The dreaded menace. This game probably wasn't as close as it felt, and it was much more painful when my Hailfire Droid was hit by Flames of the Past on turn 3. Fairly certain if my second copy hadn't been milled I would have had a good chance of winning. Also learned unless there is an Anakin Skywalker's Podracer played on turn 1, to always go for Yoda. Instead, I cleared Cassian in two turns but died before I could kill another one, thanks to Second Chance and Yoda's shields. Came down to the final turn of Jar Jar making my Op reroll one die with a discard into 3 dice showing discard, then Op played Hyperspace Jump. The beats. 3-1
Ended in 2nd for a playmat and Ahsoka Tano - Force Operative promo. Changes I would make after the fact are taking out the Rally Raids for maybe more mitigation or more C-3P0, as I think Rally Raid takes too long to set up well and Appraise does a better job of dropping a Hailfire on turn 1 easily. I like the idea of 1 big vehicle, be it Pirate Speeder Tank or LR1K Sonic Cannon for a chance to drop big damage numbers on turn 1 against some of the more powerful mill strategies.
